There has been many debate over the future of the Jaguar XK8 from Jaguar fanatics to regular car enthusiasts, asking the question will? Or why? They are becoming a classic. I believe the future of this beautiful machine is clear, i strongly believe it will be another stand out car for Jaguar, some even compared its future status to that of the iconic E-Type. As when it was released it got fantastic reviews from the media ultimately boosting the sales.
But as the car sold so well some question that this exclusivity factor will be lost. Which to some extent i do agree, but conflicting with that argument I believe the fact it sold so well, gives the car the righteous reputation that it was an excellent model and people were so eager to buy this car, which will be well regarded far past its time similar to the E-Type. Furthermore the sound of the engine is so distinct just like classics of the past like the Jensen Interceptor with the V8 engine, you would expect a deafening roar as the car comes into its own down an empty stretch of road doing 0-60 in 6.4 seconds. But that is far from the truth. Inside is the epitome of high class luxury, as the car sweeps along the road the interior is as quiet as it beautiful. It is an experience only certain cars can achieve and the XK8 does this to the highest order.
As the XK8 has been dubbed the E-Type’s replacement, many XK8’s have been locked away for storage and will be obscure for a couple decades as it is bound to appreciate in value. On top of Jaguar’s high reputation it is almost certain that Jaguar will release new outstanding models in the next couple of years. Therefore building on their already magnificent brand reputation making older models worth more, as they are apart of Jaguar and British motoring history, from where Jaguar takes inspiration from to live up to their previous fantastic designs. So over time the XK8 is bound to become a classic as the availability of this beautiful automobile depletes, and the unique design is further regarded as what helped shape Jaguar as a superior, influential car manufacturer.
