Throughout the years classic cars have epitomised a countries car culture, and old models are the foundations of what we see today. For example there are subtle hints to previous designs in Porches latest models, from the similar headlight shape to the indistinguishable front view of many Porsche models, these classic cars are inspiration for many new designs we currently see on the market.

In 2012 the prices of classic cars rose dramatically and only recently, has the market seemed to become more stable with investments being more safe and reliable alongside art and wine. There are many ways that a cars value can increase for example, the exclusivity of it. If the car was produced in limited quantity the price will rapidly rise. The Jaguar XK R 75 was the car produced to celebrate 75 years of motoring excellence, appropriately 75 of this model were produced each selling for $130,000. As this was a landmark and special car over time the price tag is bound to increase as it is seen as a collectable. Cars that have been driven by icons in pop culture also see an increase in price. The Jaguar E-Type was driven by Frank Sinatra, George Best and George Harrison just to name a few and was a symbol of style in its time. It still lives on and holds great value as it, alongside the Jensen Interceptor held great value in 2016. As Jensen went out of business in 1976 there cars are vastly unobtainable and will continue to hold an expensive price tag as time goes on.
